Hello and welcome to Kat Cut Fit fitness blog! It’s Coach Kat here, I prioritize your well-being and functional fitness. Today, we’re diving into a common issue many of us face—low back pain. This can stem from long sitting hours or repetitive activities that impact your hip mobility.

Identifying the Issue: Low Back Pain

Have you ever experienced sharp pain above your buttocks that radiates down the leg while moving? This could be a sign of an SI (sacroiliac) joint issue. It's crucial not to ignore these symptoms as they indicate deeper issues in your mobility and spine health.

Proactive Steps to Alleviate Back Pain

To tackle this pain effectively:

Visit a Local Physiotherapist:

Get a professional assessment to understand the exact cause of your pain.

Building a strong core helps stabilize your entire body, reducing the load on your back.

Strong glutes support your pelvis and can prevent biomechanical imbalances.

Weak glutes and a weak core can lead to less support for your spine, increasing the risk of low back issues. Therefore, strengthening these areas is not just beneficial—it’s essential.

Core Strengthening: A Necessity, Not an Option

Working on your core isn't just for athletes; it’s a must for everyone. Here are a few exercises I recommend to build a strong midsection:

Planks:

A great way to engage the entire core comprehensively.

Bridges:

Focuses on the glutes and lower back, promoting pelvic stability.

Start practicing these exercises regularly, even if it’s just a few minutes a day. It’s about building a habit that supports your spine and overall health.
